Paratext is the primary tool used for Bible translation with over 3500 languages and nearly 400 organizations represented. After 30 years in use, my team is remaking Paratext from the ground up. This involves a lot of rethinking old ways of doing things for the next generation of Bible translation (and Bible translators). The Hackathon and Summit made for an encouraging time filled with team spirit and excitement for all the advances to come. I facilitated and produced a new brand identity for Paratext and Platform which I presented at the Summit.

The 2024 Hackathon and Summit made for an encouraging time filled with team spirit and excitement for all the advances to come. I facilitated and produced a new brand identity for Paratext and Platform which I presented at the Summit.
The logos for Platform and Paratext both use symbology of renewal and growth. Both logos also have the intention of emphasizing rootedness and stability. The book appears as a solid base and is also suggestive of fertile ground with a furrow ready for planting. The quill appears again and this time could be seen as a sprouting leaf. Above the base in the Platform logo is a seed ready for planting, a reader above a book, or even a flame.
